28/03/09: 47105 runs round its train at Cheltenham Racecourse, with the green timetable in operation on weekends through March, 105 sees plenty of use. After Sunday 29th for most of the year until October, 105 is only usually used on running days for one last round trip after 1600, except on event days.

22/03/09: A pair of '818's, the loco that failed to provide the need for 47818 to work 1A40 was 57602, which was originally D1818 (I didn't know that obviously, after a conversation as to what 57602 might have used to be known as I thought I'd look at a book. It was 47337 by the way).

21/03/09: 47449 worked three round trips on the Llangollen Railway for driver training purposes. It is still intended to work four round trips at the railway in passenger service on Saturday 4th April, gen for which is available on the preserved 47 news page.

19/03/09: 47843 and 47853 lead the first move of any Riviera loco's away from Crewe depot this year, a Crewe to Eastleigh ECS move. The leading pair were presumably operating in multiple. 47769 will remain at Eastleigh for now to act as a power supply for the stock when required.

14/03/09: 47245 arrives at Folkestone Harbour on the last day of operation for this line on a steam charter. Three return trips were performed between Folkestone trainshed and Folkestone Harbour, 245 was on the downhill end, but gave plenty of assistance to steam loco 70013 on each climb of the bank out of the harbour.

07/03/09: A yellow dot on the roof of the number 2 end cab of 47798 at Whitby, there is a model of 47798 in the previous version of Res livery with a yellow dot on the roof of the number 1 end cab, perhaps the dot was applied to the wrong end on the model? The exact reason for the dot is not known here, but the photographer suggests it may be for police helicopters to easily spot the loco when it was on Royal train work.

It must be pointed out that rules on the railway have evolved over the years because of incidents, rules that are usually strictly obeyed and make the railway a much safer place - the person seen here trespassing, against the law, is next to a running line. He, and others, might think that "it's OK because there are no trains coming" on that line but it is this complacency that can one day lead to a serious injury or worse. This coincides, timely, with a mention on WNXX.com regarding wondering around privately owned property photographing. If you like the railway, please respect it.
