29/11/09: 47245 stands in Swanage yard, waiting to head back to London on Monday. The photographer points out that this loco (D1922 at the time) was one of ONLY six Brush type 4's that were allocated to the Southern region at Eastleigh (70D) to help out with the ailing Bullied Pacifics on the 'Bournemouth Belle'. Some of these 47s also ran on the Swanage Branch from October 1966 – September 1968 before it closed. |
