24/04/93: 47551 above, which had already carried the number 47801, was renumbered back to 47551 before a repaint into Res livery. Not too long after this photo was taken at Lunds of the loco hauling an unknown northbound service it was named Poste Restante and was then modified to work with former class 307 driving vehicles and renumbered 47774.

24/04/93: With a number of S&C drags/diversions going on, here above is NSE 47707 between Smardale and Kirkby Stephen on an unknown Cross Country working at about 9am. Although loco hauled NSE workings continued from London Waterloo until the end of June 1993, 47707's last recorded working here on these was on 17th January 1993 and it became a Parcels sector loco as per a number of other former NSE 47/7s. Although only recently scrapped, it had been long withdrawn and 707's last passenger working was on Tuesday 2nd April 1996 on 1K67 1323 Bangor-Crewe.

24/04/93: 47825 emerges from Blea Moor Tunnel with 1S57 from Paddington to Glasgow Central, working it from Preston(?) to Carlisle. After moving away from Virgin in 1999, it found a home for a short while at Norwich acting as a standby loco and working trains to Great Yarmouth and as such a final passenger working for it before it became the 13th class 57 was on 28th January 2000 when it worked 1P50 1850 Liverpool Street-Norwich throughout.

16/05/93: The last Paddington-Worcester loco hauled service, headed by the aptly named 47821 'Royal Worcester' carrying a 'Cathedrals Express' headboard. This was a Sunday, and the working above which was seen passing through Tilehurst was 1B36 1537 Paddington-Worcester Shrub Hill, with the final working being the return 1A86 1905 Worcester Shrub Hill-Paddington. The following day the trains would be entirely in the hands of class 165 and 166 units. 821 was previously D1730, 47138 and 47607, it would later be 47786 'Roy Castle OBE'.

26/06/93: 47224 at Dover Western Docks with an excursion from Derby, Atlas Railtours 'Dover Distributor'. Whilst this wasn't the last railtour to Dover Western Docks was one on 25/09/94, it is likely to have been the last 47 hauled tour to there. Copyright: Andy Barnes

26/06/93: 47276 at Folkestone Harbour station, waiting to depart on the same railtour after 224 hauled the tour in as 1Z40 0600 Derby-Folkestone Harbour via London Victoria and Dover Western Docks. 10/08/93: 47436, with the unusual painted name of 'BUZNAK', from Tinsely of course - is seen on a low loader at Inverness heading away fro scrap. There's more than a year between 436's last known passenger working (to Southport) and it's withdrawal date in September 1991.
