04/09/98: Some of you may not be aware of the page that exists on this site with photo's of no heat loco's on Virgin Cross Country, initiated thanks to photo's from co-news editor Crumb. On there is a photo by Nigel Benning of 47326 hauling 1O38 1406 Birmingham-Bournemouth at Brockenhurst on 4th September 1998 with the number 1 end leading. Here 326 is shown at South Moreton after passing Didcot on 1O38, no.1 end leading - proof that 1O38 on this date must have avoided Reading. 1O38 was booked to reverse at Reading, the return 1M81 avoided Reading at the time.
