Summer 2008
Loco hauled trains to Skegness were permitted only if Network Rail staff additionally inspected the line after each previous date of loco hauled operation.
It was intended to have more locomotive hauled trains running to Skegness before the date shown below where 47787 and 47851 were again used, but an internal strike/rest day working ban by Network Rail infrastructure staff at the time meant there is a bit of a gap where the 47 hauled turn did not run as a result of there having been no additional checks made to the tracks at the time.

The End
In 2008, the Cheltenham race-ex trains were provided by spare 220/221s and this area no longer fell under the control of the former Central Trains, now being the sole charge of Arriva CrossCountry.
For 2009 the summer extras to Skegness have been provided by HSTs.
