The first job on EWS739W was to replace the lower deck seat cushions, which were the modern version of First seating (can be seen in the foreground and over the near-side rear wheel-arch). How did it get these? They were from UAR597W, which was purchased from First by Simon Munden (dealer) in January 2005, and then sold to Carl Lemon for preservation but before it left Bristol it had an exchange of seats with EWS739W. Very few First VRs received this style of First seat cover, FDV807V did (lower deck) and LFJ873W (both decks) and evidently UAR597W (lower deck) are the few that are known of.
