The Canvey Island event attracts vehicles from former Eastern Counties and Eastern National fleets – for this reason STW30W is the Hedingham representative each year. The buses gather here at Labworth car park by Canvey Eastern Esplanade. 08/10/06.

The odd one out at the event (of the VR’s present) was former Southern Vectis NDL652R, now owned by local enthusiasts John & Chris Stewart. It did though spend a number of years operating locally in Essex with Nelson of Wickford (NIBS) who painted its fleet white and yellow at the time. It is photographed arriving back into the Labworth event area after its first return trip to Canvey Bus Museum. NIBS current livery is the less bright colour shown on the double decker next to NDL in the photo.

NDL652R outside the bus museum on its second trip. The ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ comment on 08/10/06’s news is a reference to the Volkswagen camper van in the film ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ which carries the same half white/half yellow colours! NDL652R and LFJ855W were NIBS last two VR's.

UAR597W arrives at Labworth in the morning of 08/10/06. After 1400 this was used on at least three trips to the bus museum. UAR was refurbished by First Western National with purple seating but since preservation these have been replaced with a nice set of NBC style cushions from other withdrawn vehicles.
